Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about how YOU can future-proof your retirement income through Compass Property Investments
Who exactly is Compass Property Investments?
Compass Property Investments (or "CPI") comprise a tight-knit, professional group of like-minded, investment savvy property investors who source and offer 'top-of-the-range', long-term rent guaranteed investment properties to both first-time and experienced property investors alike.
The Compass Property Investments team have worked closely together since 1999, offering high calibre investment properties in Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga.
Wealth creation and retirement planning through prudent, low-risk property investment is what Compass Property Investments teaches its clients; supporting this with an unique blend of "property investment planning" tools, property investment analysis and good old-fashioned "Kiwi know-how!"
All properties marketed through Compass Property Investments are fully managed and protected with secure rental guarantees ranging from 5 - 15 years. These rental guarantees are either supported by a Housing New Zealand Home Lease or via an exclusive "Compass Private Lease".
Although it's head-office is on Auckland's north shore, the company has a strong presence in both Hamilton and Tauranga. CPI's customer base is world-wide.
How long has CPI been in business?
CPI (Compass Property Investments) was incorporated in February 2006. However, most of the management and staff have previously worked together in a similar operation for more than 6 years.
The reason for the "move" to the new company was so a "private lease" could be offered to New Zealand property investors who either didn't want an HNZ lease arrangement, or where certain "high-potential growth properties" were in areas that HNZ had no presence.
With more than $40 million worth of properties on its books, CPI is in an exceptionally strong position to both maximise the wealth creation ambitions of its clients and ensure they are financially secure in retirement.
What third-party business references can CPI provide?
CPI (Compass Property Investments) and its clients have formed strong business relationships with some of Auckland's leading conveyancing solicitors and property accountants. Should you wish to speak to any of them for reference purposes, please feel free to do so.

Why deal with CPI and not one of their competitors?Firstly, CPI (Compass Property Investments) offers a complete property management and rental guarantee package up to 80% below the fees charged by some of its competitors.
Secondly, unlike some of it's competitors, CPI believes strongly that a "one-stop-shop" concept i.e.having third-party professionals like solicitors and accountants all under the same roof could be seen to be a "conflict of interest".
Thirdly, CPI does not advocate marginal borrowers exposing themselves to potentially crippling long-term debt through "deferred interest" schemes like those offered by companies who promote so-called "positive cash-flow" scenarios.
NB:If you can't service a mortgage shortfall comfortably then you shouldn't be investing in property right now!
Fourthly, CPI is prepared to put its own "private lease" in place for any property that falls outside the HNZ home lease criteria. This will allow you to enjoy all the benefits of a long-term rent guarantee on some of the very best investment properties available in the Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions.
How competitive is CPI's fee structure?
At CPI (Compass Property Investments) there are no admin fees, no service fees, no "percentage of sale profit" fees - just a one-off property brokerage fee of $6,500 + GST.
For properties under management with CPI's private lease, there is a one-off $1,000 establishment fee and a standard property management fee.
If you shop around the various NZ property investment companies you'll soon discover that CPI's total fee structure is anywhere between 18% and 80% below that of our competitors.
NB: CPI's property brokerage fee is 100% tax deductible.
